Ongoing need to keep the orchestra going. Paying rent and procuring instrument, as well as music and upkeep of instruments.

It is the mission of the Tri-State Community Orchestra to enrich and educate the Tri-State community by providing both audiences and performers with quality, musical experiences; and to partner with community groups to instill and enhance civic pride through cultural awareness. The Orchestra strives to keep ticket prices and education programs affordable. Your generous gifts are tax deductible donations that are essential in facilitating that mission. DONATE TODAY!

Click on the WYSO drop down menu to learn more about our Youth Orchestra Program! The WYSO is a three tiered program with a beginning level for those who have never played strings, an intermediate level for those with at least one year of experience and the top level for those ready to audition and play with a mixed ensemble. We are the only program in the area offering an orchestra ensemble experience for youth.

The TCO has a membership that is constantly changing and consists of string, brass, wind, and percussion players. Southeast Alabama, Southwestern Georgia and the Florida Panhandle are the areas from which we draw our members. Ages vary from elementary students to retirees. Musical abilities range from the novice instrumentalist to the professional musician. Many of our members are former high school musicians who are living proof that it is never too late to pick up that old instrument, or buy a new one, and start playing again. Orchestra members volunteer their time to rehearse, perform, and share their common love of music. Rehearsals are held on Thursdays from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Dothan Cultural Arts Center (CAC), on 909 South Saint Andrews Street, Dothan, Al 36301.

Ron Branning is the conductor for the 16th season of the TCO. Ron Branning is the Professor of Instrumental Music/Music Education at The Baptist College of Florida, and conducts the Baptist College of Florida College Orchestra and the College Jazz Ensemble. He has been the Music Director at Eastside Baptist Church in Marianna for 29 years, has been a band Director for 22 years in school systems in Alabama and Florida, has been the conductor of the Harmony Bay summer youth orchestra for 12 years, has been Conductor of the Florida Baptist All State Orchestra for 6 years, and is regularly invited to direct District Honor Bands and serves as Adjudicator for Music Festivals throughout the tri-state area.

We rehearse every Thursday night from 6-8 at the Cultural Arts Center
