RECOGNIZING the important role that the study of music plays in the development of life skills; it is the mission of the Tri-State Community Orchestra to enrich and educate the Tri-State community by providing both audiences and performers with quality, musical experiences; and to partner with community groups to instill and enhance civic pride through cultural awareness.
The Wiregrass Youth Symphony Orchestra (WYSO) program gives youth from ages 9-19, with or without musical experience, an opportunity to play a stringed instrument with others with similar ability.
The Wiregrass Strings
The Wiregrass Strings is for beginning students between the ages of around 8 and high school graduate to learn to play the violin, viola, cello or bass. The program consists of two 16-week semesters.
The Philharmonia is for students between the ages of around 8 and high school graduate who have had a year or more of violin, viola, cello or bass lessons. The program consists of two or more 16-week semesters.
The Youth Symphony
The Youth Symphony is for students between the ages of around 8 and high school graduate who have been playing a stringed instrument for at least one year and are selected after passing an audition.
Tuition is $175 per student, per semester.
If your student is enrolled in two classes, ie. violin in one and cello in another, tuition is $250.
